Enter the thickness, width, and length of a board on the Calculator screen, then tap Calculate. WoodPro multiplies the three dimensions and divides by 144 to give you board feet. Add a quantity to calculate multiple pieces at once.

By default, thickness and width use inches and length uses feet. You can cycle any field to a different unit by tapping the unit button next to the input. Supported units: inches (in), feet (ft), millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), and meters (m).

Yes. Tap the unit button on any dimension field to switch between imperial and metric units. All unit inputs are available in the free version.

Yes. Tap the fraction icon next to the thickness or width field to open the fraction helper and insert a common fraction value. You can also type fractions directly (e.g. 1-3/4). Fractional input is free.

Reverse calculation solves for the quantity of boards you need to reach a target board foot volume. Enter your target board feet, thickness, width, and length — WoodPro calculates how many pieces you need. Reverse calculation is a free feature.

Log Scaling calculates the board foot yield from a log using standard scaling rules. WoodPro supports three rules: Doyle, Scribner, and International 1/4". Log Scaling is a free feature.

A project is a named collection of board foot calculations, called line items. Use projects to group all the boards for a single job and track combined total board feet and estimated cost. Projects are a Pro feature.

History is an automatic record of your last 50 calculations — it is always on and requires no setup. It is a free feature. Presets are intentionally saved dimension setups you create for repeated use, for example a standard deck board or fence rail. Free users can save up to 5 custom presets. Pro users can save unlimited presets. Three built-in presets (Fence Rail, Deck Board, Bookshelf) are always available.

Open a project, tap the export button, and choose PDF or CSV. The file is created on your device and shared via the standard share sheet. Export is a Pro feature.

Pro unlocks: the Projects workspace, unlimited saved presets, PDF and CSV export, the Nominal-to-Actual helper, and the species price reference. All core calculation features, metric units, fractions, history, and the 3 built-in presets remain free.

No. Species prices in WoodPro are local reference values stored on your device. They are based on approximate retail prices at the time of app development and can be edited to match your local supplier's pricing. They do not update automatically and do not reflect live market conditions.

Yes. All calculations and data storage happen on your device. No internet connection is required to use the calculator, view history, or manage projects. An internet connection is required only when purchasing or restoring a Pro subscription.

Go to More > Restore Purchases. This syncs your subscription status from the App Store or Google Play. Use this if you purchased Pro on another device or after reinstalling the app. Restore Purchases is a free feature available to all users.

Go to More > Manage WoodPro Pro to open the subscription management screen. You can also manage your subscription directly in your iPhone's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or in Google Play > Subscriptions. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the next renewal date to avoid being charged.
